Sophia Project is about a entirely autonomous photovoltaic solar heliostat. It has developed an enterely autonomous heliostat, self-powered and auto-calibrated by means of sensors integrated in the facet.
The heliostat has demonstrated the correct performance of the developed technology, which has been applied to a bigger and more profitable heliostat and the development of a better solar plant (PHOTon Project).
SOPHIA Project benefits include:
- High optical quality heliostat (slope error <1 mrad)
- Foundations are not required
- Calibration process is automated
- Communication and power wiring is not necessary
