Entirely Autonomous Photovoltaic Solar Heliostat

SOPHIA Project has developed an enterely autonomous heliostat, self-powered and auto-calibrated by means of sensors integrated in the facet.

The heliostat has demonstrated the correct performance of the developed technology, which has been applied to a bigger and more profitable heliostat and the development of a better solar plant (PHOTon Project).

Among others, SOPHIA Project benefits include:

• High optical quality heliostat (slope error <1 mrad)
• Foundations are not required
• Calibration process is automated
• Communication and power wiring is not necessary
